Mobile Apps & Games Leaderboards

Mobile Apps & Games Leaderboards gives you a leaderboard-style view of the App Store and Google Play so you can see where an app stands across key performance and visibility metrics.

Use it to benchmark your own apps, research competitors, spot market leaders, and understand how apps compare across countries, categories, and 14 performance and visibility metrics. Appfigures gives you three ways to view each leaderboard - App Store, Google Play, and a unified view across both stores - with the granularity and data quality Appfigures is known for.

How the leaderboard works

Each leaderboard ranks apps for one selected metric at a time. Change the metric to answer a different question, such as which apps had the most downloads on a specific day, which apps generated the most revenue in a month, or which apps are easiest to discover organically.

Leaderboards are available by date, country, and category.

Filters

  • Category - Filters the leaderboard to a store category. Appfigures unifies App Store and Google Play categories so apps can be compared in a combined leaderboard.
  • Country - Filters the leaderboard by country. The default is Worldwide. Country-level leaderboards are currently available for 10 countries, with more planned in the future.
  • Date - Shows the leaderboard for a single date. Historical leaderboards are available starting January 1, 2026.
  • Metric - Controls which metric the leaderboard is ranked by. You can view one metric at a time.

Downloads metrics

  • Daily Downloads - Estimated downloads for the selected date.
  • 7-Day Download Change - The change in downloads compared with the previous 7-day period.
  • Monthly Downloads - Estimated downloads for the calendar month that includes the selected date.
  • 30-Day Downloads - Estimated downloads over the trailing 30 days.
  • All-Time Downloads - Estimated downloads since Appfigures began tracking app intelligence data in 2017.

Revenue metrics

  • Daily Revenue - Estimated net revenue for the selected date.
  • 7-Day Revenue Change - The change in revenue compared with the previous 7-day period.
  • Monthly Revenue - Estimated net revenue for the calendar month that includes the selected date.
  • 30-Day Revenue - Estimated net revenue over the trailing 30 days.
  • All-Time Revenue - Estimated net revenue since Appfigures began tracking app intelligence data in 2017.

Store visibility metrics

  • Discovery Score - A score calculated by Appfigures that estimates how easy it is to find an app organically in the store. It is based on the number of keywords the app ranks in, where it ranks for those keywords, and how popular those keywords are.
  • Top Keywords - The number of keywords where the app ranks #1 and the keyword has popularity of 10 or higher.
  • Top 10 Keywords - The number of keywords where the app ranks in positions 1–10 and the keyword has popularity of 10 or higher.
  • Keyword Count - The total number of keywords the app ranks in, regardless of rank.
