Keyword Performance

Keyword Performance tracks how your app ranks for tracked keywords over time, with updates as frequent as every hour - a level of granularity unique in the industry. It combines a detailed keyword table, trend charts, and summary statistics to give a complete picture of your app's keyword positioning. Whether you're monitoring daily shifts or catching hourly fluctuations, this is where you see how your ASO efforts translate into real rank changes.


Using Keyword Performance


Start by selecting an App, Country, and Date Range from the pickers at the top. When an iOS app is selected, a toggle allows switching between iPhone and iPad ranks, which can differ significantly. To start tracking keywords, click + Track Keywords to add keywords from a list or select keywords your app is already ranked in.


💡 Each keyword is counted only once regardless of how many apps and countries it's tracked in - adding the same keyword for multiple apps or markets won't use additional keyword slots.


Reading the Results


The keyword table displays all tracked keywords along with key metrics for each:


  • Rank - your app's current position for the keyword
  • Popularity - a score from 5 to 100 indicating search volume (learn more about ASO metrics)
  • Competitiveness - a score from 1 to 100 reflecting how competitive the keyword is
  • Top 5 Results - the top-ranking apps for that keyword
  • # Apps - how many apps the algorithm found for this keyword


The rank chart shows hourly or daily position trends for up to 10 selected keywords, making it easy to spot patterns and correlate changes with ASO updates.


Summary statistics include rank distribution across all tracked keywords, average, min, and max rank, plus keyword movement stats showing how many keywords moved up, down, or stayed the same.


Rank data updates hourly on Optimize, Boost, and Grow plans, or daily on Connect and Monitor plans.

Keywords can be translated into any language for convenience when reviewing international keywords. Clicking any keyword reveals quick actions for further analysis.


Filters


The keyword table can be narrowed down using several filters:


  • Text - search for specific keywords by name
  • Rank Position - filter by current rank range
  • Popularity - filter by keyword popularity score
  • Competitiveness - filter by competitiveness score


What You Can Do With It


  • Track rank changes over time with hourly granularity
  • Set up daily or weekly alerts for rank changes via email or Slack - every user has a daily alert configured by default
  • Translate keywords into any language for convenience when reviewing international markets
  • Export as CSV, JSON, or copy to clipboard for pasting directly into Apple Ads
