Appfigures for AI agents (Duplicate)
Appfigures for AI agents
Connect your AI assistant or agent to Appfigures and it gets live app-store data: downloads, revenue, ranks, reviews, and keywords for the App Store and Google Play, plus a catalog of millions of apps across Amazon, Steam, Roku, and more. You ask in plain English, and your agent gets the answer.
What you can ask
Here are some of the things you can ask once your agent is connected:
Your apps
- "How are downloads and revenue trending across all my apps this month versus last?"
- "How much of my revenue comes from the App Store versus Google Play?"
- "Track my subscription MRR per app, month over month."
- "How much am I spending on ads each day, and how does that line up with downloads?"
- "Which of my apps slipped the most last month, and do the reviews hint at why?"
- "Pull this week's 1-star reviews, grouped by app version, and draft replies I can approve."
- "Where in the world are my best ratings coming from?"
App Store Optimization
- "What keywords does my app rank for in the US, and at what positions?"
- "Which of my tracked keywords have the most traffic but the least competition?"
- "How do my category ranks compare across the US, UK, and Japan right now?"
- "Am I featured anywhere at the moment, and what did being featured do to my rank?"
- "Compare my keyword rankings with my top competitor's."
- "Pull my US and Japanese store listings so I can audit the title, screenshots, and copy."
Market research
- "Rank the top 10 US iOS games by estimated revenue this month, and tell me who publishes them."
- "How many monthly downloads does an average fitness app get in the US?"
- "Find iOS apps using Firebase that earn more than $1M a month in the US."
- "Which SDKs do apps usually ship alongside OneSignal?"
- "Estimate my top competitors' monthly downloads and revenue."
- "Are new iOS games launching at the same rate as they were two years ago?"
- "How are ratings distributed across apps in my category, and how big is each store?"
Who can use this feature?
Anyone with an Appfigures account can connect their agent. Your agent gets the same access you have on your plan. For example, if your plan includes ranks, your agent can read ranks.
- Public estimates and catalog data require the Grow plan or above, with the Public Data API add-on enabled.
- Your private metrics and replying to reviews require a linked store account (App Store Connect or Google Play) on your Appfigures plan.
Requests your agent makes count against your API limits and credits, the same as any other API use. See Appfigures API, CLI, and MCP: Access, Limits, and Public Data for details.
Choose a connection method
MCP
Use MCP if you chat with an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT. Add a URL and sign in. Nothing to install.
CLI
Use the CLI if you use a coding or sandboxed agent that runs terminal commands, such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or Manus. Your agent installs it and walks you through sign-in.
Agent Toolkit
Use the Agent Toolkit if you're building your own agent in TypeScript or JavaScript. Install the npm package and use an API key.
REST API
Use the REST API if you want full control or are building in another language. Use an API key.
Not sure which to choose? Start with MCP.
Connect an AI app with MCP
MCP is a standard for connecting AI apps to outside tools. Appfigures hosts the server, so there's nothing to install. Use this server URL and sign in with your Appfigures account:
https://mcp.appfigures.com/mcpClaude (web, desktop, and mobile)
- Open Customize > Connectors.
- Select + Add > Add custom connector.
- Name it Appfigures and paste the server URL.
- Keep the default sign-in options and select Add.
- Sign in to Appfigures and approve access.
The connection works across Claude on the web, desktop, and mobile. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner must first add the connector in Organization settings > Connectors. Members can then select Connect in Customize > Connectors.
See Claude's custom connector documentation for plan availability.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings > Plugins.
- Select + Add > Create Custom MCP Server.
- Name it Appfigures, paste the server URL, and select OAuth.
- Select Create as a Plugin.
- Sign in to Appfigures and approve access.
For screenshots, see Connecting Appfigures into ChatGPT.
This isn't available on every plan. On Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans, an administrator may need to allow it first. See OpenAI's developer mode and MCP apps documentation.
Other AI apps
If your app supports remote MCP, look for an option to add a custom connector or server and use the same URL. Not every app supports sign-in. If yours doesn't, use Claude or ChatGPT.
Moving from the old Claude Desktop setup
The earlier Claude Desktop setup used the local command npx -y @appfigures/cli mcp. This is deprecated and will be removed in a future CLI release.
- Open Settings > Developer > Edit Config and remove the
appfiguresentry. - Restart Claude.
- Add the hosted connector using the steps above.
Use the CLI
For a coding or sandboxed agent such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or Manus, use this prompt:
Install @appfigures/cli from npm, then show me what it can do.
Your agent installs the CLI, walks you through a one-time sign-in, and answers your questions. The CLI requires Node.js 22 or later.
For noninteractive use in CI, scripts, or servers, use an API key. See Create an API key below.
For details, see the Appfigures CLI README.
Build your own agent with the Agent Toolkit
The @appfigures/agent-toolkit package provides ready-made tools for TypeScript and JavaScript agents, without writing custom API calls. Use its agent tools with the Vercel AI SDK, OpenAI, or LangChain, or use its typed client for scripts and scheduled reports.
Install the package:
npm install @appfigures/agent-toolkitSet the APPFIGURES_API_KEY environment variable using the steps below.
See the Agent Toolkit README and agent-readable documentation.
Use the REST API
For full control or another programming language, use the REST API with an API key. See the Appfigures API documentation.
Create an API key
The CLI supports interactive sign-in. Use an API key for the Agent Toolkit, REST API, or noninteractive CLI use where a browser isn't available, such as CI, scripts, and servers.
- Open Appfigures developer keys.
- Select Create a New Client.
- In the popup, select Create Personal Access Token.
- Set your API key as an environment variable:
export APPFIGURES_API_KEY=YOUR_API_KEYThe Create Personal Access Token button appears only after you create a client.
MCP doesn't require an API key. Sign in with your Appfigures account instead.
Changes your agent can make
Your agent has the same account access you do. Most operations read data, but agents can also reply to reviews and track or untrack keywords.
- MCP: Most AI apps ask you to approve changes. Keep approval enabled.
- CLI: Replying to reviews and untracking keywords require
--yes. - Agent Toolkit: Every write operation refuses to run until your code approves it.
Troubleshooting
Claude doesn't show Add custom connector
On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner must first add the connector in Organization settings > Connectors. Free accounts can have one custom connector.
Claude asks for an OAuth client
Choose Use Claude's published identity and leave Client ID and Client Secret empty.
