# What is Sharing and How Does It Work?

Appfigures makes it easy to securely share your app data - such as sales, subscriptions, and ad revenue -with other people or teams. Sharing is ideal for collaborating with publishers, developers, investors, marketing partners, or anyone who needs access to your performance data.

### What Is Sharing?

**Sharing** lets you grant others *read-only* access to specific products and date ranges in your Appfigures account. Members you share with have completely separate accounts and cannot modify your data or settings.

This feature allows you to collaborate without manually exporting or forwarding reports - shared data updates automatically.

### Who Can Share?

* **To share your own data:** You must be on a **paid plan**.
* **To receive shared data:** Any plan works, including the **Free Forever** plan.

This means anyone can view your shared data simply by creating a basic Appfigures account - free of charge.

*You must have **admin privileges** to share data.*

### How To Share

#### Creating a Share Group

Share Groups let you control *what* you share, *with whom*, and *for how long*.

To create one:

1. Go to Account Settings > [Sharing](https://appfigures.com/account/sharing)
2. Select Create New Share Group
3. Enter the following details:
* **Title** – A name to identify the group
* **App(s)** – Choose the products you want to share
* **Email Address(es)** – Add the members you want to invite
* **Dates to Share** – Select the date range they can access
* **Expiration** – Set when access should automatically end

*You always maintain full control and can revoke access instantly.*

### What Happens When You Receive a Sharing Invitation?

1. You’ll receive an email invitation.
2. If you're not logged in, you'll be asked to enter your Appfigures credentials or create a new account.
3. After accepting, the shared products appear in your dashboard immediately.
4. You can leave a Share Group at any time via **Account Settings > Sharing**.

#### Sub-Users

* Have access to the *entire* account (depending on the permission level you assign)
* Can access products, settings, and members
* Are meant for *internal teams* that need deeper access

#### Sharing

* Provides read-only access
* Shares only selected products and date ranges
* Designed for *external collaborators* like publishers, investors, or partners
* Each member has a completely separate Appfigures account
